If we are not obeying these commands scripture has nothing to hang on to in our lives.
When we obey these two commands, that provides a hook for scripture to attach itself in our lives. We can experience different parts of scripture when we first obey these two commands. Loving God with all our heart and loving our neighbor as ourself.

Every follower of Christ must have an individual relationship with the Lord that is cultivated in the secret place. There is a level of intimacy with the Lord that can only come about spending with him alone in the secret place. One benefit of the secret place is it's a place of formation. Like clay on a potter's wheel, God wants to develop you and form you into who he has created you to be. Secondly, it is a place of strength.
