Psalm 91:1 says, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." Every follower of Christ must have an individual relationship with the Lord that is cultivated in the secret place. There is a level of intimacy with the Lord that can only come about spending with him alone in the secret place. One benefit of the secret place is it's a place of formation. Like clay on a potter's wheel, God wants to develop you and form you into who he has created you to be. Secondly, it is a place of strength.
